How Urgent is the Repair?

Keeping your roof in good repair is a top priority, but when should you repair it immediately, and when can you wait?

  • If you are experiencing an active leak, immediate action is needed to prevent further damage, such as patching or temporarily covering the area with a tarp until a more comprehensive repair is possible.

  • If you detect damage early through inspection, maintenance, or personal observation, you may be able to wait to schedule your repairs if the damage is minimal and the weather conditions are favorable.

Roof inspections and roof maintenance are a great ways to stay proactive in servicing your roof. When you detect damage early, scheduling a repair is easier and more affordable.

Common Roof Issues We Fix

Shingles

Damaged, missing or incorrectly installed shingles can allow water to penetrate the roof substrate, leading to leaks.

Roofing Flashing

Flashing is installed around roof protrusion such as chimneys, skylights, walls, and dormers. Leaks can develop if the flashing becomes damaged, corroded, missing or improperly installed.

Roof Pipe Boot

Pipe boots often leak due to the rubber seal gasket drying up and breaking apart creating an opening. Pipe boots can also fail if not installed correctly, underneath shingles or properly fastened. This can cause leaks to develop near where the pipe is located.

Skylight Unit

Leaks may develop near skylights if the flashing or skylight frame is damaged or inadequately sealed. It could mean both the flashing around the skylight and the unit itself will need to be replaced.

Barge/Fascia Boards

Boards can rot due to prolong water exposure caused by failed paint protection, lacking drip edge flashing or backed up gutters.

Gutters and Downspouts

Clogged or damaged gutters and downspouts can cause water to overflow and or flow back up under roofing materials, leading to leaks.

Frequently Asked Questions About Roof Repairs

Will I need a roof repair or a full replacement?

If the damage is isolated such as missing shingles, minor leak, or a single flashing issue then the roof can be repaired. However if your roof is 20-25 years or older and has widespread deterioration then a full replacement might be recommended. Repairs are for addressing the weak components or areas of the roof until a complete replacement is needed.

We provide a full inspection of the leak and honest recommendation for your roof based on what we find including photos.

How soon can you come out to fix the leak?

Some roofing issues simply cannot wait for repairs. That is why we offer emergency roof tarping to stop the leak now then, schedule a repair at a later time. Still, we generally set up a time the same week we are contacted to complete repair work. The sooner we know, the better.

Do you offer warranties for repairs?

We stand by our work and offer a 1 year warranty for repair work but not temporary patchwork. Patchwork could include fixing a relatively small section with a simple fix or could include tarping. Repairs are more complex and could include multiple areas or a larger part of the roof.

How can I extend the life of my roof?

Being proactive with roof maintenance and repairs, ensuring proper attic ventilation, trimming trees near your home, and clearing gutters regularly are all things homeowners can do to help make their roofs last longer.

Can you match my existing shingles for a roof repair?

We will do their best to color-match your existing shingles. Sometimes there will be a slight variation in color due to the age of your roof, fading due to sun exposure, or discontinued products.
